Of Montreal is Kevin Barnes in the studio. This lone artist cranks out a floaty-but-rocking LP that mirrors everything about British simplicity from The Kinks to Supergrass, and then throws in an electronic edge that harkens back to the ‘80s idea of intelligent dance music.

 

The Sunlandic Twins gets a bit lost in psychedelic electro-shock toward the end, but enjoy the ride en route, as this album has some of the quaintest dance tracks I have heard in for-never.

Playing the BlueBird this Tuesday, May 24, they are guaranteed to smack a smile across your pretty face.
